Upcoming launch of Strategic Asia China Office |
Strategic Asia’s China office is scheduled to open in early 2012. The primary aim of the office is to link Chinese businesses, policy makers, state run enterprises and educational institutions with equivalent bodies in Asia and Europe. Taking advantage of China’s look east policy and its increasing aspirations to become the number one global economy, it will be vital for Chinese enterprises and government institutions to gain a strong understanding and progressive working relationship with their counterparts in other parts of the Asian diaspora.
2011 has been an exceptional year for Strategic Asia in China and it is now time to consolidate the excellent ground work with a functional and operational base inside the Mainland. Whilst it is seen as necessary to build traction with the capital city, especially as many of the educational and public policy institutions are positioned in Beijing, Strategic Asia recognises the importance of gaining a strong commercial footing within the other major urban centres and second tier cities. Many of these megacities have populations in excess of 5 million and China is currently producing more home grown entrepreneurs and creative industry led export products than any other country in the world.
The China office will provide a gateway for Chinese companies and institutions to access the European and South East Asian markets and a staging platform for European, Indian and Indonesian companies to further their understanding of the Chinese market. Simultaneously Strategic Asia aims to offer broader policy expertise and joint venture activities on climate change, trade, education, food security and creative industries. |
